Wonderful – the Monsoon rains bring much needed relief from the heat, but of course, amongst other things, creates havoc on the roads!
But look here, those youngsters in Fort Cochin were not put off by the heavy downpours (I was – I stayed in the car, :)) and played their football games with vigour.
It was great fun just to sit in the car and watch them.

Warm rain is wonderful.
actually it was hot and sticky – but those fellows had such fun!
Joyful but very messy
Dallas, you are right – messy certainly, but who cares? They did not – they even played cricket nearby!!!lol, Carina π
Must be a great feeling playing in the rain and mud enjoining what ever nature has to give! Great photos. Sara
Sara, thanks for your compliments. I wanted to get closer to them, but it rained “buckets” – and I have just recovered from my annual Monsoon bug.
Such a lot of fun they are having. What it is to be young. π
friends from colorado were visiting during the rainy season, and they said how nice it was to get wet from rain and not be cold!
you have captured pure joy in those lads who were not affected by the rain in the least!
Those boys had tremendous fun – they even played Cricket nearby; but I would have to leave the car and…no! I did not want. π Carina
I love rain especially when I’m not being rained upon! π The car sounds like the perfect vantage point!
Lorraine. It has been known in the past that I rushed out into the garden or onto a terrace somewhere in the Tropics when the Monsoon rain came down for the first time in the season onto the parched land and its equally parched people. Getting literally soaked by this warm rain was a huge relief and even fun ….. I was a child again π Hugs Carina π
Why not? You just have to hose down afterwards. π
Great photos, must have been lots of fun watching them play. When I was a kid I loved playing outdoors in heavy summer rain, covered in mud and bits of grass we usually required hosing down before going inside to have a shower π
You’ve captured the joy of the game, I’m sure the rain only enhanced the experience
The weather is not stopping them!
Good for the little guys! I prefer singing in the rain (Gene Kelly version) π
thanks Jo – that was a lovely film, we can watch this one over and over again. But he danced in the puddles, too. All together now……singing in the rain…….!!! π
Before my retirement – the days preceding our Annual day were always monsoon days – and the various teams played football and cricket on those very grounds where the youngsters in your pics are now playing. I used to be part of it, and enjoyed every minute. Brings back fond memories !!
hahahaha Pearl – how I would have loved to see you running after the ball – I most certainly would have been cheering the loudest. And btw, the boys were playing cricket nearby as well, but I really could not leave the car to get that shot. Carina π
boys + dirt + soccer– a winning situation every time-love the center image- the energy really comes through!
